Snow White by AkiDead Snow White by AkiDead
As *Yuiko101 Suggested in my last poll, I drew some Disney fanart. It was hard picking who to draw and now that I've started I'll have to draw more /addicted OTL
It's a bit messy, but I guess most things I draw are.

Fanart won in the poll but Original was a pretty close second so I'll upload something original next

Please put me out of my misery and tell me what brush you used for the bg and her colouring... I'm dying to know. It's awesome, and I love her expression and pose.

I love it.

Hahah aww thank youuu~;u; I the whole thing was flat coloured and shaded on one layer (except the line art and background are their own layers) in Paint Tool Sai, and thennn the magic happened when I blended with the Marker tool.
You would not believe how much that tool has changed my life! Unfortunately, I don't think other programs have a similar tool (I know Photoshop doesn't) so you're only in luck if you use Sai

One layer... I think I shall faint now. Blast MacBooks for not having SAI... and blast my school for only letting us use Macs. *pouts* Ah well. When I DO manage to get PC and SAI, I shall know what to do. Thanks a bushel!

Aw, sucks you can't use it noww~ Do you use Photoshop? At my school we used Macs and Photoshop.
I used to be 100% team Photoshop, and thought "How could I possibly like SAI more?" But then I tried it.. and well, I love it. It doesn't have all the same features of Photoshop (like for example no text tool) but SAI is really good for the drawing and colouring. I usually complete 90% of my pictures in SAI and then do the finalizing in Pohtoshop. Which sounds like a lot of work but it isn't too bad.

Even though one layer sounds intimidating I actually like a lot. I try to use layers to keep me organized and so I can go back on certain things without wrecking other things.. But I always start to lose track of where things went (even though I name my layers)!
When I use one layer for my colouring, I don't have to figure out what layer I put this and that on, worry about colouring on the wrong layer by accident, and (especially with the marker tool) the colours and shadows all blend together nicely, rather than just look like tings cut out on top of each other. I'm still learning of course. ... Geez, I really just rambled on and on there, sorry! :D

I use photoshop elements... even less features, but it still has the basics. brush and eraser! :D

That is quite true, less layers are much easier to manage. I just might try that somedays.
